How’s 2021 treating you?
When the clock struck midnight on December 31, a lot of us were feeling ready for a fresh start. The new year’s a time to begin anew and make positive changes. But just because the year’s well underway doesn’t mean we have to lose the drive to better ourselves and the world.
And let’s be honest: right now, we could all use a little extra goodness in our lives.
You can be that ray of sunshine to your neighbors, friends, and family. And if you need some extra incentive to spread some love, doing good for others can help you:
- Live longer
- Lower your blood pressure
- Feel happier
Not bad, right? And doing something nice for someone else doesn’t have to require a lot of your time, money, or energy. Here are four easy ways to spread love.
Give Your Neighbor's Pet a Treat
As we’ve all spent more time at home during the last year, you might have gotten to know your neighbors a little better. And that might include furry, four-legged neighbors, too.
Grab some dog or cat treats the next time you’re grocery shopping (since JOJO’s aren't safe for your furry friends to eat!). A surprise treat from a neighbor could make an animal’s day. And it’ll put a smile on their owner’s face, too.
Send a Handwritten Letter
When you sort through your mail, how much of it are you excited to open? Between bills, catalogs, and flyers, mail can feel like a slog.
But you can change that experience for someone. Writing a card only takes five minutes but it can mean the world to the recipient. If a friend or family member has been on your mind, take a moment to write and mail them a letter. It’s a thoughtful gesture that we shouldn’t let go out of style.
Make Yourself a Nice Dinner
As you’re spreading love to others, don’t forget to give yourself some, too. Taking care of yourself helps to keep you balanced and recharged. That, in turn, powers you to do more good for others.
Take an hour one night and make yourself a meal you really love. And if you’re someone who prefers a quick yet delicious meal, create a snack board full of your favorite munching must-haves! Put on your favorite music, light some candles, and sit down to savor it. (You could even eat it in the bath — we won’t judge!)
Making this much space to slow down and enjoy shouldn't be a rare treat. Try to make it a habit to regularly spread love to yourself.
We wanted to make it easier for you to safely share some goodness with the people around you and with our Assorted Wrapped Bites, it's easier than ever.
Pass a couple to your mail carrier or your gardener. Slip a few into your friend’s purse. Find little ways to gift people with some healthy, delicious dark chocolate. It’s an easy way to brighten someone’s day.
We could all use a little more love right now. You can be a part of making that happen. Keep an eye out for random acts of kindness you can perform throughout your day. You’ll be making the world a better place, and you’ll feel better, too.
